I picked this video because some of the things she saying about endangered languages.
I like how she mentioned that there was a Jewish boy that saved his life by speaking another language when the Germans.
This video doesn't give us much of statistics, but it encourages people to learn other languages including the languages that are dying.
One of the ways that she encourages learning these languages is something that can help you learn it and that is by a song that is in that language. By learning a song that is in the language you are wanting to learn, it will help you remember certain verbs along with learning the language a little bit faster.
Another thing she mentions is that when it is also important to learn the language through the songs because those songs are have a lot of history behind it and it helps to understand the dying language a little bit more.

What a cool concept! Especially since a lot of people find it easy to memorize songs. I remember learning a lot of songs in Spanish when I was younger, but never thought it contributed to how well I grasped the language. That's pretty awesome.
ReplyDeleteThis was very interesting to watch. I Definitely agree with MommySabori that it's a cool concept. I like listening to all kinds of music like Spanish, Italian (opera) and kpop. I memorize some words but now I'm going to try to memorize the whole song. Great video!
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of using music to preserve a language. I think she is right, songs are important, and in a lot of cultures, music and songs are important. Songs can be fun, especially for children to learn, and they will subconsciously be learning a language and maybe later become interested in learning more, therefore not letting it die out as fast. Great video!
